Wiring info for Traction Control button?

On my 2000 TC the traction button is in the glovebox & I bought a new dash piece out of an 02 which has it on the dash. Being I've always hated it being in the glovebox now I can move it to were it should be.

If I cut the wires on the old one & run wires off that to the new one will that work if I splice them together?

It should work, if the wiring is exactly the same. I've been wanting to do the same thing too so tell me how it turns out when you finish.
