my wipers now when turned off stop in the up position. everything else is fine. so if the switch is working telling off that leads me to believe its the motor not going into park. right?

Mine does that from time to time...I just fiddle with switch turning on and off and they eventually park...its possibly the wiper park relay

The Multi function lever can cause the wipers to do different things. They still sell the part new, and it's pretty easy to change.

it is in the motor, if you push down on the wipers when putting them in park they should go down. i have been having to get out of my 93 every time i turn the wipers off.

Mine stop in middle of windshield also in single wipe mode, even after installing a new motor last year. I switch to the first intermittent detent for one cycle. When they stop, I turn switch to off and they return to park.

I have had a few wiper motors go over time ... once they start parking in the up position it's time to get a new wiper motor.
