Who Lives in Texas?

Tell me about Texas. I've been seriously thinking about relocating there; particularly around the Beaumont area. The homes seem beautiful and the prices are DIRT cheap compared to The Communistwealth.

What can you tell me about the area? Taxes, crime, affordability, shopping, quality of life, weather, laws, attitudes, politics, the people; anything.

I'm just growing tired of the leftist Northeast. I can't stand these people and these taxes are out of control! The contractors and yuppies are destroying my cities, town, and rural towns by mowing down trees and forests just to build another fvcking Dunkin' Donuts!. I can barely even afford a place in the slums. Crime is out of control and we've just been named the most violent state in the East Coast. Insurance rates are fvcked. Cost of living is insane.Traffic is daily gridlock and NE drivers fvcking SUCK. And the attitudes of the people here just flat-out suck- but you can't beat everyone's ass! FVCK!

Help. Tell me about the promised land!

texas is like any other state. It's has it's ups and downs. Each city is different.. You have everthing from a poo-dunk town of 500 in Cut-n-Shoot, texas. To major "New yorkish" living in Dallas/Ft.Worth or down here in houston.

Best bet is to go to a cost of living website that throws all that information your looking for at you.

hey i moved to Austin Tx going on 4yrs but now i live in Hutto Tx as of 1 mth and i can tell you this. I have done better here in the last 3yrs than i have my last 10yrs of living in NJ born in Elizabeth but raised in Linden NJ.

The homes are cheaper but made with quality the rent is a hell of alot better than NJ oh and you have parking lol... I just moved into a 3bedroom home in hutto TX lease with the option to buy the home is only 2yrs old and goes for less than 110K compared to if this home was in nj it would go easily for almost 500k. But Tx has been good to me so i say give it a try plus the job market is better here as well from my on point of view. and i am not going back to NJ to live just to visit. but good luck on your decision.

I know it's ridiculous around here. A one-bedroom apartment cost 1000/month, you cant buy a house around my area for less then 700 thousand. God Jersey sucks. My Parents pay 9000 a year in taxes, thief’s.
