so my girlfriend has a 96 Camry w/230k; it's been leaking oil for quite a while; a few have tried but no one has fixed the leak, it's on my list after my Mark VIII's are blemish-free

I've convinced her she needs to be responsible and check/fill her oil 1x/week. Recently she noticed the big slick in her garage was growing. One day she was about to take off but I told her to wait so I could check the oil level. I pop the hood and there's oil at the front edge of the core support and the underside of the hood is covered w/ oil. Her yellow funnel was sitting in the valve cover with the oil filler top sitting next to it on the ex man heat shield. The dipstick was dry and it took about 3 qts to get full again. She had driven 500 miles like that
