I don't quite understand. It's as if they think everyone buying a luxury SUV is a boy racer who wants to run it up through the gears and pretend they have a 7 speed manual tranny. Anyway, I have a '98 with an automatic and the shifter is on the steering column, and I want to get something newer but wonder which years have column shifters.

THanks.

Well, seems like no one here knows. By my own looking around, it seems that Lincoln decided to put the shifter into the console to stay around 2003. But I know I've seen the Ford Expedition with it available on the column. So it looks like I'm going to have to look at the Ford line. If anyone knows different, let me know. Thanks.

I believe 2002 would have been the last year that a column shift was available in the Navigator, 2003 was a refresh with a different instrument panel from the Expedition.

While I don't see any around here I know that there is still a option of floor or column shift on the Expedition depending on trim and option levels.
