V8 Fuel Temperture Sensor

2002 LS V8 SST

I read the OBDII when i got a check engine light & got code 0181.

Telling me my Fuel Temperture sensor isn't working properly. Problem is i dont think the V8 comes with a fuel temperture sensor only the V6 does.

Does anyone know about that?

I do not believe any LS has a fuel temperature sensor. News to me.

According to obd-codes.com, P0181 is
P0181 Fuel Temperature Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

Never heard of a fuel temp sensor on a production car.

Then there's U0181, which is
Lost Communication With Headlamp Leveling Control Module

I think that my thermostat is going bad. It takes a while for the engine to warm-up, thinking i am hitting the time limit for the closed loop engine management & the code is a result.
