Ok, so I made this thread to discuss what you guys think of using Armor All to clean leather. Personally, I would never, I hate the way it makes it shinny, leather isn't supposed to shine, and it really bothers me when I see a dealership or used lot used Armor All to clean the leather, it would probably be a deal breaker for me because I myself would have to go though and spend hours properly recondition the leather, if that's even possible after it's been doused in Armor All. Bellow is a classic example, an otherwise nice looking 2010 DTS that was Armor Alled to hell.

Oh no, I wasn't looking for advice, I have proper leather cleaners and creams, I was just wondering what you guys thought about it, and why so many people do this to their leather. Like I said, I never have and never will consider it myself, and it really bothers me when I see a car has been doused in it just as the one above has been.

Yeah same here, not for the whole shiny look. That actually makes it look dirty. Oils from your body transfer over to the leather making it look shiny, why would I want the?!?! I used to use lexol but it didn't clean. I tried magic eraser and it cleans really nice and gets all the tough scuff marks with ease. Now I don't think I am damaging my leather like that but it sure cleans up nice with the eraser.

My thoughts exactly! I think it gives it a sort of cheap and artificial look too. I guess some people just don't know what leather is supposed to look like. Like I said I hate seeing a used lot or dealership do this to the car. To me it shows they're either lazy or just don't know how to properly detail a car with leather. In my experience, big name branded dealerships are for the most part good about it, especially dealing with a car of the same manufacturer, Luxury car specialists are also very good about it as well, and not every small family owned lot will do this, is mostly the shady hole in the wall type places.

Why ?? Because they just don't know any better and or they are lazy and have ArmorAll already or they don't care. I'm sure there are those that like the shinny look too.
