Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share a success story and now I seen other posts that cover this topic. About a week ago, my 1993 Mark VIII started this transmission slip deal where I would be driving along in cruise and suddenly it would rev high a couple thousand rpm and then the transmission would "kick" back on. It also seemed to change a couple of gears but then change back to the correct gear twice. This happened in the afternoon one day but the next day it happened so much (intermittently) that I didn't I was going to make it home. It happened on the interstate around 70mph but also on city streets around on and off and had to glide into my driveway.

The fluid level was fine both hot and cold and a garage wanted $80 to read the codes and run diags on it but I bought the MLP/TR (neutral safety switch) sensor for $50 instead. I changed it myself (about 20 min) and haven't had the problem since. Didn't want to buy a new or rebuild the transmission if it was electrical instead of mechanical.

Passing this along to help others!

Mike
