Anyone had their trans leak on them (mainly the LS owners who have done burnouts). Mine is leaking and I wanted to kno if their was a temp fix for it, cuz right now I can't replace the trans yet

Where is the leak coming from?

If you can't afford to fix it, you probably shouldn't rod on the car so hard.

Na, it came from me not knowing doing one 2 second burnout can cause a leak. But, now I kno

I don't think a 2 second burnout would cause a leak, unless there was already something failing. The burnout was probably just the final straw.

Ahh f*** that sucks, but one the bright side, it should be cheaper than replacing the whole trans

find where its leaking and replace the seal/gasket, and call it a day

Well there are some chemical fix its that claim to fix that problem but all it does is smell the seal and will cause it to get much worse later and possible cause other transmission damage. It's not worth the gamble IMO.

I would not use a "miracle in a can" treatment approach, fix the problem properly and be done with it.

Yea, I don't really trust quick fixes but money is kinda tight right now, and my gas sipper' starter jus kicked the can. Ima call a couple trans shops and see what their prices r

So I called a trans shop (whitcraft in reisterstown, md) today, and the guy told me to do the seals, and all other seals in the trans since it would be out, would be around 8 hunge as long as its only the seal causing the leak, and not the torque converteor anything else...and to replace it would be around 1700. Now to come up w/ some mulah...lol

Its still leaking. Gotta top it off before I go to jersey, but its ok. Jus gotta save up to get it fixed/replaced

How do you top yours off?? Id like to change the fluid in our 00' but theyre sealed...

I do it at my job (s car shop). But basically it need to be in the air, in neutral or park and running at normal operating temp. At the back of the trans near the top is the fill plug. It takes an 8mm allen wrench. Then I jus pump trans fluid in till its a steady stream comin back out. Close it up and I leave

thats the wrong way, you are overfilling the trans. you need to take the small bolt out from the bottom of the pan and then start to add. when it comes out the bottom plug, it is filled to the proper level. no wonder you blew the seals out.

Right...I can't do mine that way yet anyway. That little hex ish is stripped on mine

its a t 30 torx bit i suggest you remove the pan and repair it because overfilling a trans is worse than leaving it a little low on fluid. cause it foams the fluid [airrates] it and pukes it out of seals. hence your front seal leak. try fixing your trans pan filling it properly then see if you still leak that might be your whole problem

Cool. I'm glad ur an lvc member cuz I never knew that lol. Y do I need to remove the pan (jus curious)

Does anyone kno where I can buy the trans drain plug. I googled for it but its not showing any results where I can buy it

the only reason i said to remove the pan is cause you said it was stripped and if you remove the pan you can heat it up with an torch and try removing it that way. or drill it and use an ez out to remove it
