after owning the car 3 months i decided to see what my stock 01 lincoln ls v8 would do in the 1/4. first run using shift-tronic or whatever its called i got a 15.967 @ 88 mph, second run just in d4 i got 15.902 @ 86 mph. what have some of your track times been if you have ever ran it?

05 LSE V8 14.2..... Juice is in today doing some tuning hopfully MUCH better by Wedensday

wow so is the new v8's alot better? and how big of a shot did you do and what special work did you need for the engine to handle it

well thats a 14.2 w/ mods. Intake, exhaust, and XCal tuning. I will be running from 50-100 shot.. and not really any engine work to handle it, just the right products and tuning

W-O-W, I have never ran something like that...Your looking at lika 14.9 with my mods...intake/exhaust. Dude, clean out your injectors, change your air filter, fuel filter do SOMETHING to get some gas or air to that clogged engine. There is no way in hell you should be running almost a second worse than me, no way.

I got my 2003 V8 up to 14.90 with just intake and exhaust mods.

what should it run stock? what kind of intake mods should i do? and i wnat to keep the car quiet

That's with a 1/4 tank of gas, no spare, and an SCT tune. I don't think it's wrong, I raced my buddies 3000GT and it ran a 16.3 @ 86.891 vs. My 14.9 @ 92.889

Maybe thats what a stock one does and I didn't realize it.

I think his times are accurate for the 00-02 V8. Maybe alittle rusty (few tenths) due to maintenence but i dont think it would improve his times that much. Maybe he isnt too good a driver. But i dont see where your numbers are coming from. Now your getting confusing here regarding your time...first you said intake & exhaust mods got you a 14.9, now you said its 1/4 tank, no spare and SCT tune. So what is it? You have almost a whole second to explain over his track time. Was yours at a track? Time Slip? I tend to believe his times because he isnt really out to brag or anything, just posting his experience at the track.

05 V8 N/A with just CAI and tune.... 14.3 @ 98 MPH...

05 V8 100 shot nitrous & CAI & tune..... waiting to hit the track when it cools off later this fall. Planning for 12.9's @ about 109 MPH...

15.041 02LSE LSK Intake tube with KKM and Magna-Flow cat back. This was on a completely warm engine and lugging my 20" wheels.

You should run low 15s easy.

With intake, tune, exhuast, and I guess you could say a lighter load, due to no spare and 1/4 tank. In 65*, mostly cloudy weather. Sorry, I guess I should explain everything. It was at Clay city, a track near me. This was just in D5

Looks accurate to me. Manual shifting can get you a little better once you get the hang of it. I figure my 20s are at least .1-.2 slowing me down. That said I'd be a smidge better than your time but without the Xcal. I'm getting the Xcal soon to break into the 14s on 20s and switching to the stock wheels and plan to hit 14.7s. At least a 14.8 and maybe a 14.6.

can i just get a tune for my car?

Ahhhh It's your reaction time bro. YOu see how we are so much quicker on the throttle? Keep one foot on the brake and one on the gas, and youll shoot off quicker.

NO, ive said it once and ill say it again the clock doesnt start untill you pass the line you could sit at the line for 10 minutes and still run a 15.9 blah blah blah reaction time only helps when you are racing someone else so try again....

Your reaction time is pretty aweful. But something isnt adding up with all these times you guys are posting. How can T_Man's times be slower than 02LSE but yet have faster 1/8 mph speeds? That doesnt make sense?

Your right you can sit there all you want and it doesn't affect you time. Your 60' is weak, if you start off bad, you won't have your best run. As a matter of fact if your consistent with your driving a car can be scary consistent when comparing slips. Look closely at JEFFs and my numbers through all the numbers. Do you spin the tires alot? That can make a difference of .5 in the whole run and even more if you blaze them all together. When you look beyond that your car seems to be mostly slower in the first 1/8th. 1/8th to the finish only bit off pace, but still off pace because your first 1/8th is slower with slower MPH. How do you shift or do you use D5.?
