Little fun fact that I didn't even know until just recently, The Northstar V8 is still to this day considered the most advanced engine General Motors has ever produced, and they came out in what 1991-1992, forgot how big of a deal they were back in the day, and I guess a little today still, even when they ended production of Northstar equipped vehicles in 2011, they were still unmatched in terms of power and performance.

yep, the northstar was a 90 degree, aluminium, DOHC V8. most of the stuff chevrolet is building now has the age old pushrod small block chevy in it still.

however, the newer CTS with the direct injected V6 is a nice piece of work. and is a real departure from the OHV norm.

I can't wait to try the new twin turbo 3.6L , I wasn't really that interested in the second gen and never test drove one, but I might just have to take a drive over to the dealership. I only worry about falling in love with it, I just got a new car this year and don't think I could swing a $70,000-$80,000 car payment, I got a 2012 Chevy Tahoe, and if your not familiar with them, they run between $50,000-$60,000 so yeah. I don't necessary like XTS compared to the cars it replaced, one of them (DTS) being one of my all time favorite cars, but I feel the XTS V Sport package sure is nice to have in that car.

i heard the ATS V was gonna get that 400 something hp turbo v6. now that sounds like fun.

I was hoping they would do an ATS-V, oh boy could you imagine that little thing pumping out 420HP and 430 lb-ft of torque! I bet it would do 0-60 in Corvette territory. You got to see the burnout the new CTS-V can do, probably not as good as the current gen with the Small block in it, but not bad at all for a V6.
