Shuts off while driving

Car just started shuttin off while driving. Instead of "D" for drive it shows "E" and fan kicks on when it shuts off. Not overheating. Starts right back up and soon does it again. What's wrong? Someone help me!!

Thats where all the regulars hang out and discuss issues. This is for like the over the top non standard stuff.

Do get the trouble codes from a scanner that go along with that 'E'. That will be the first thing the guys will ask of you if you dont.
