Hello fellas.

Want to share my excitement about this car! :)

I just drove 500 miles the other day and got 24.5mpg, whaaaat???? Didnt even know LS can be so economical :).

Car rides smooth, pulls nicely, is quiet and looks superfancy.

Bout to drive 500miles back and excited for the drive.

It's a 202,000 miled V6 2001. Haaaayyyyy

Nice....

The last time I took a road trip I had no deadlines to meet and, like you, looked forward to the drive.

Too bad you had to wear sunglasses, with all that lack of tint ;]

My 06 V8 gets around 24-25 on the highway, depending upon how much cruise control I use. Not bad for a 4000-lb luxury liner :)

Good to hear she is treating you right.

The thread title had me for a second. I thought i was going to see pictures of the sexy Benz.

Drove back already, was rainin most of the way so no shades :)

Will take some pictures of the benz soon.

I did 26 on a recent trip from Chicago to Detroit, but that's more than usual. Probably, if I could stir together all the e-way trips since new, my '02 would be at about 24-24.5.

LS is a great highway driver. I have taken mine on a few road trips. St Louis to Chicago, Indy, and Nashville. Got great gas mileage. 25-26 at 75mph the whole way. I was surpriesd and very pleased.

Mine's got a humm/vibration in the rear anything above 70, noticeable at 75 for sure. By 80 it's at it's worst and just kind of stays there even if I go faster. But even with that, it still rides better then most cars at that speed. Soon as I search and destroy that vibration, it will be awesome for over the road driving. Now I just need to loose weight so it isn't so cramped. LOL :D

Still doesn't hold a candle to a Towncar as far as lazy-boy on wheels goes. That would be my first choice if I was going to be doing a ton of driving cross country. Now if only the Towncar didn't feel like a luxury yacht the rest of the time :P

Just did a 200 mile trip to virginia and 200 miles back in a weekend. My first distance drive in my 04 6 cyl with 150k. The drive was great! Did the whole trip with one tank of gas and still had just shy of a quarter tank when I got home. I averaged 28 mpg. Funny i only get around 14-15 around town. Anyway, I was very pleases with the car. The only thing that I noticed was the cruise control bucks the car a bit when going down hill trying to hold the speed.

I top out around 25mph highway, but if I keep my foot out of it I get around 17 in town. That is a pretty big "If" :)

I just drove a round trip from Charlotte,NC to Northern Virginia and got 27.5 MPG. My usual mixed condition, heavy footed, driving The LS gives me around 23 MPG. With the mixed driving I reset the MPG gauge regularly. I have owned at least a couple dozen cars in my 35 years of driving and my '06 is, BY FAR, the funnest all around car I have ever owned. I have owned everything from a new Ford Pinto to a Mercury Clycone big block.
