I know there have been many threads on the rearview mirror dying. However, is the mirror computer controlled in any way? I was getting some extra keys made, and they said they were having some difficulty with the computer. When I got the car back 30 mins later, the mirror was dead. The service "techs" said they didn't do a thing to the mirror, but the service manager said he hadn't seen a thing like that happen in teh time he had been there. Also, does the mirror just die, or does the "air bubble" slowly get bigger?

nope - is has an integrated compass and the light/auto-dimming sensor built-in - but neither are connected to the car in anyway other than power.

So it's just a weird coincidence that the mirror went while it was being serviced?

probably---

Check fuse #16 (5A) - E/C Mirror, Heated Seat Controls, RSM (Rain Sensor Module)
in the passenger footwell.

Nope, still good. Is there any way to get all the fluid out of the mirror so that it works fine, just doesn't dim headlights?
