Just got my rockford fosgates for 28 bucks a pair on bestbuy.com and stupid me just ripped off the panel and saw the speaker connector on the factory speaker (the pigtail) and looked at my new speakers, saw they didn't match up and just packed it all up.

Then I found the included speaker wire for my new speakers. It looks like I just snap on the wire to the posts on the new speakers, cut and strip the factory wire, attach to new speaker wire and voila, correctomundo?

And yes I know the factory speaker wire blows, sooner or later I'm gonna upgrade but right now I still have my factory tape deck on a cassete -> aux cable haha

Yeah you can do that, but those speakers are not rated correctly for the factory amp. Those speakers are probably 4 ohm speakers and the factory speakers are all 3 ohm. If the aftermarket speakers were rated at 2 ohms, which is pretty well unheard of for anything other than a subwoofer, you would run the risk of burning up the factory amp. But since your speakers are 4 ohms, then it's just going to affect the volume. You'll probably have to turn the radio up just a little more to get the same volume, but you should be good and shouldn't have any issues with anything frying. But it might not be a bad idea to think about rewiring the speakers with heavier gauge wires and upgrading to an aftermarket amp.

Yeah so I got out there with a boxcutter and electrical tape and now its working....well, for the most part (see below)

In due time hotrod. The speaker wire is cheap as hell. I also noticed that (stupid me) my tweeters were disco'd not broken. Well, 1 at least. I need a drivers side tweeter, also what are the size of the rear tweeters, 2"?

Right now my car has

4 working 5x7s
1 (passenger front) working tweeter....I get a lot more bass from the new 5x7s and realize that if I had all 4 of the working tweeters I'd be more than happy with that, the 1 tweeter alone is pretty damn loud (for my car audio tastes)

If anyone can help me with getting a drivers side front tweeter shoot me a pm. I'll probably go aftermarket on the rears since they look like they're easier to change.

i have about 100 tweeters front and rear, and the front are different then the rear, same tweeter inside , but the plastic cases around the tweeters are different for front and rear.
