This part:

is allowing unmetered air into my engine (I believe).

Is this the elbow to which many of you replace with YL8Z-6A614-AA?

"PCV Elbow" did not return useful threads. 2000 LS8

No. I don't have gen I info to be able to tell you what the part you point to is.
You'd have to take the top half of the intake manifold off to get to the PCV elbow.

That is not a PCV elbow. You've got a Gen 1 V8 and its PCV system is actually through the IAC - the tiny black hose that connects the IAC to the passenger valve cover.

What you're pointing to is a vacuum fitting. Call up Max, ask him if he can look up the vacuum fittings that plug into the top of the intake.

There's a chance you can cobble something together at the parts store. Take that thing off and head in, see what can be plugged together.

'cuz I'm nice (and have time while watching yet another awesome world series game) that piece is called a "Air Inlet Tube" and can be found on fordparts.com as part number 9S487B. You'll probably also need the "Engine Intake Manifold Air Inlet Tube Seal", p# 9H490. I'd still call Max to confirm and get the LvC discount.

IIRC, that fitting provides vacuum to the brake booster.
