None of the Buttons on Steering Wheel work

Car: 2000 Lincoln LS

None of the buttons on the steering wheel works. I didn't do anything. For a while the horn didn't work, then slowly some of the buttons mis-operated, I would click volume and the station would change. Now, nothing works. Any idea?

There is a full write-up with photos on how to do it yourself - see sticky note right here on this forum. The only special tool you will need is a steering wheel puller. The clocksring itself is about $100.

Not necessarily. I fixed a similar problem by removing the switch assembly, dousing with isopropyl, remounting and it was fixed. Lucky I guess.
