Well I finished my move up to Minnesota. It makes me laugh, I left the scorching desert of El Paso, Texas and moved up to Minnesota and El Paso just got hit with a blizzard storm and we haven't seen even a flake up here lol.
Anyway, I remember how much I regretted selling my 03 F150 Super Crew the winter before I left MN and decided to get something that could navigate the snow (if it ever shows up) a little safer than the LS. Not to mention they use alot of salt down here and I'd like to preserve my LS from early decay.
I picked it up rather cheap at the dealership I worked at before I went back into the Army. They had it on major discount since they thought the tranny was going out. Finnaly I got a deal from a dealer lol. It had a hellatious vibration from 30mph up, but the vibration went away if you let off the throttle. My brother and I were messing with it yesterday and decided maybe the transfer case had some issues since there seemed to be play in the drive shaft from there. It turned out to be a ujoint which we realized as soon as we dropped the drive shaft. One of the (knuckles?) or lobes? was completely dry and gouged. It was obviously the culprit so $12 later and about an hour bleeding the jack in the press the Beast was crusing down the highway smooth as silk.
So in the End I got a 98 Suburban 4x4 beater that is big enough for the family to get around and something I could use for hunting etc. Even had brand new tires on it. I also changed the PCV valve and plugs. That took about 20 mins. 350's are so easy to work on.
Sorry I know its not an LS but... it is an LT lol.
