Well I finished my move up to Minnesota. It makes me laugh, I left the scorching desert of El Paso, Texas and moved up to Minnesota and El Paso just got hit with a blizzard storm and we haven't seen even a flake up here lol.

Anyway, I remember how much I regretted selling my 03 F150 Super Crew the winter before I left MN and decided to get something that could navigate the snow (if it ever shows up) a little safer than the LS. Not to mention they use alot of salt down here and I'd like to preserve my LS from early decay.

I picked it up rather cheap at the dealership I worked at before I went back into the Army. They had it on major discount since they thought the tranny was going out. Finnaly I got a deal from a dealer lol. It had a hellatious vibration from 30mph up, but the vibration went away if you let off the throttle. My brother and I were messing with it yesterday and decided maybe the transfer case had some issues since there seemed to be play in the drive shaft from there. It turned out to be a ujoint which we realized as soon as we dropped the drive shaft. One of the (knuckles?) or lobes? was completely dry and gouged. It was obviously the culprit so $12 later and about an hour bleeding the jack in the press the Beast was crusing down the highway smooth as silk.

So in the End I got a 98 Suburban 4x4 beater that is big enough for the family to get around and something I could use for hunting etc. Even had brand new tires on it. I also changed the PCV valve and plugs. That took about 20 mins. 350's are so easy to work on.

Sorry I know its not an LS but... it is an LT lol.

I think so, as long as no MN members wreck their cars lol. Crashing seems to be going around. (which reminds me my wife took the LS today :O )

Welcome to Minnesota! We had better get some snow here in the cities soon or Im gonna lose it :( . Where abouts are you living? Hopefully it's not far from the metro and you can make it to the next meet. The more the merrier :D

Hey John! I didn't think you were still around. Glad you still have the Lincoln.

I'm west of the cities in Maple Lake, NOT too far to miss a meet :D Its about 40 min drive. Alot changed in the 2 years I was gone lol.. Denny Hecker lost his empire haha. The dealership I bought the LS at is boarded up in Monticello, MN

Oh yeah, you used to live here. I couldn't remember if that was you or not. Guess it was :D

Thank God! I bought a car from them and that was the worst experience I've ever had and their service was horrible. What a creep he was/is.

lol... yes it will. Got my beater up and running, although now it needs a new tranny pan gasket. front driveshaft was soaked, I crawled underneath, and sure enough another leak. WOOHOO! More super cheap parts to throw at it. It's also blowing blue smoke out the passenger side exhaust. Piston rings? Exhaust valve? Who knows? Hopefully it makes it through winter before I tear into it.

Your winter beater looks like it's in a lot better shape than mine:

I remember him lol. I don't follow the Twins too much but if I claimed a team it would be them. I do like the Vikings though, the only time I even watch a game is when they play.

I hear that about the cheap parts, and like I said the engines are so easy to work on. I showed the good side of the beater, not that the driver side is bad but near the gas cap door I do have some MN cancer. Nothing too bad but will probably take a few hours cleaning up and painting, I think some Gloss Black Krylon should do the trick after I get the metal cleaned up. Your beater does have alot of character though ;)

are you mn guys twins fans? you must remember kirby pukett :D

I was at the dome for game 6 of the 91 world series.

Before the game he told the team "Climb on my back, boys. I don't know who's going to take care of Game 7, but I got this one."

Kirby makes one awesome catch then wins the game with a home run.

When that ball went off his bat in the 11th that place became unglued.
Every one in the place was chanting KIRBY KIRBY KIRBY.
It made the place shake.
Never seen anything like it.
Its sad the way the man went down, tragic.

Yeah, he was a hometown hero. I had the unfortunate task of helping design and draft a trophy room for his house back in 2000 or 2001, don't really remember what year but back then. I won't say too much about him besides that he was not a nice guy then :( which is too bad cuz I really liked him. I kinda wish I never wouldve been involved on that project....

On another note, we built cabinets for Kevin Garnetts house when he was still living here. He was super nice!

so when exactly will this Minnesota meet be happenin? so i can schedual ahead of time

March 15th middle of lake Minnetonka. Look for all the LS's out there on the ice. If you don't see us, just keep driving around till you do.

Wow... another MN member...

I would trade places in a heart beat... send me to TX!

+1

The hunting ranches down there are crazy too! All those shows on Versus come from Texas it seems... I didnt see jack sh*t here in all my 6 sits.

But there is still muzzle loading....

But if we moved, what would we do without the LS God that is Pektel?

I hope there will be more than that there. That'd be one good lookin hole in either case

Shhhhhhhh I don't actually wanna meet then, I just want repete to show up for no reason.......:shifty:

On a similar note though, how cool would that look? 5-10 LSes out on the ice? Pretty damn cool I bet.

Yeah, it was in the low 40's during last April's meet IIRC. Maybe a May/June meet this time.
