Just installed a new headunit today. Everything went swell, all speakers are working and sound decent enough until I can get my hands on some new ones. Just wanted to ask around to see if other people had an issue with the amp harness from the Metra 70-1559 not clicking or snapping in to the vehicle harness, and if so, what remedy did you use to get a snug fit. I tried shamming it up with little pieces of cardboard and then using electrical tape. It works but it is very very sensitive to any movement.

Yeah it slides in and fits perfectly just will not secure. Wonder if best buy gave me a bum harness

The latching feature is on the connector on the car's harness. Is it possible that it was damaged when you removed the radio?

I am pretty sure I did not damage it, the push down latching mechanism is still in place. The oddity is, that on the vehicle harness and the headunit harness, the latching mechanism is on the wire side of each so that when they go together they are on opposite sides if that makes any sense. There are some pictures to help out. I am wondering if there is not two different models of this harness in which they both fit but the snapping mechanisms are different. There is an audio shop down the street that is going to look at it today. Thanks for the help.

That first picture sure looks like something is broken. Those two straight pieces in the cut-out look like they should make a ∏ shape.

They do make the ∏ shape on the inside of the plug.

I took it to the shop today and they had the same harnesses, so a guy came out and basically just shoved it together to the point that it works fine. He also suggested taping it up.

Thanks for everyone's input
