I got an issue with my mark.
A few days ago, I jumped in the Mark, fired it up and it started sputtering and running very rough at about 5-600 rpms or less and then died all in about 20 seconds. I thought that was odd, but maybe just cold or something.
Today I get in to head to lunch and it starts to drop idle and sputter, I quickly give it a bit of throttle to about 2gs and it drops back down to 500rpms and feels like it was going to stall again, I held it at about 1200-1500 for a few seconds and afterwards it was all good again.
So whats the deal?
I have changed the plugs to autolite Plats but have not done the wires yet because I have been broke and want to buy a good set.
Any ideas on what may have caused this and Im taking advice on a good wire set, I'd like to stay with a red set and keep it below $60.00 or close to it.

do not delete this thread

Sorry for the triple post, we will keep this thread and delete the other two.
Thanks

IAC valve maybe?

You could try to seperate your wires, I thought I heard something once about the firing order and the wires being laid out so when they start to go bad sometimes you get interference.

can anyone piont out the IAC in a pic for me, its a good thing i still have that parts mark, though it doesnt look much like a car anymore.

Looking directly at the engine, it will be the part that is mounted to the left side of the intake, right beside the throttle body. It has a plug that goes into it. It comes new with a gasket and is very annoying to change out but you will manage. The part nearly touches the firewall, top left next to the TB. You can't miss it.

Removing the hood makes it even easier to deal with but if you have no help with the hood, don't try it. It just helps to be able to get right on top of it and see. The passenger wiper and cowl will need to come off first thing before anything else. I think it's held on with 2 8mm bolts and one bolt is longer than the other. Break them loose first with a small 8mm wrench and then use a bendable long long extension with the socket on the end to finish removing the bolts. Reinstall the same way and tighten with wrench and then plug it in.
