Low coolant warning

I am getting a low coolant warning in the message center on my 98 every now and then. The coolant is visible in the overflow bottle. Any ideas what it can? be

Sometimes the level sensor can get stuck. Is the coolant level at the cold mark?

From my experience, the level sensor float will sink if there's too muck water in the coolant. That happened to my '96 once.

My overfow bottle was completely full, turned out to be a stuck closed thermostat, but my temp gauge was fluctuating also.
