YES!!!!!!!! Ok, where to begin, I've been keeping an eye on this Diamond Anniversary for about 4 years of which it's been sitting since 2007. The car is beautiful! Has 100,798 original miles. What was wrong with it? Well, initially, nothing really, the guy was NOT even selling it. About 4 months ago I left a note on his windshield & one on his apartment door. I WANTED THIS CAR!!! He doesnt' call me back until 3 weeks later & proceeds to tell me that the car isn't forsale but if he has to sell it he would do so for no less than $1,800 or so (It's well worth it) but I told him to think about the price he's giving me & that the car has been sitting for EVER & to call me if he can lower the price. I NEVER heard from him again.
Saturday while grocery shopping at Publix my cell phone rings, i look at the display & I was shocked, it read "Flagler Diamond Mark" as I had saved the number on my phone, Flagler is the main street where the car was parked. I answer the phone & on the other end is a VERY desperate man eager to get rid of his car for cheaper than the previous mentioned price but I must take it TODAY as he's not spending a dime on the car & his lower control arm ball joint broke, as seen below. WTF?!?!?!?! I asked him if I could see the car, when I get about a block away I notice traffic slowing to a hault then look to the distance.... There I see my future Mark VIII completely blocking the right hand lane of Flagler Street right out of his parking lot.
I was shocked but realized his urgency! I told him I didn't have the cash because I was unemployed but I offered to help him somehow bring the car back into his parking space. After 4 hours & some help from Marvin & my father, the car was back in it's space in no time. Several times while we attempted & failed backing the car into the spot, I would mention to the owner that he should really cut me some slack after I helped him bring the car back in since it was not drivable & that I had never worked so hard for a car that isn't even mine yet.... Long story short, towards the end of this ordeal, he looks at me, puts his hand on my shoulder & let's just say I made the deal of a lifetime! :hump: :hump: :hump: :hump: :hump: :hump: :hump: :dancefool :dancefool :dancefool :dancefool :dancefool :dancefool
Today I had my friend tow the car (we blocked both East bound lanes but that's another story)... Brought the car home, purchased the ball joint, installed it & broke the car in by doing a nice burnout in front of my house! lol
Truth be told, because I am currently unemployed this car will be for sale in a few weeks as I truly can't afford to have 3 cars. I'm doing the title transfer tomorrow & since I got her REALLY dirty today I will be giving it a very nice wash, wax & detail. The car still needs some minor things, I am definitely keeping the chrome wheels, putting my stocks on this Mark, the car needs refrigerant & a radio since the one in the car sucks. Other than that the car is great. I'm looking forward to enjoying the time I will have it though. It may be the last time I own 2 Marks at the same time. I will shoot better pictures in the next few days!
