How many quarts does the 3.9L V8 take?

I don't have a manual for my car and i just want to verify real quick how many quarts my car takes. I heard 6 is this correct...thankx for any help.

My '02 V8 takes 6. May be different for other years.

Osain's right. probably 6.5 if you add in the amount you put in the filter

Last time i did my oil, it took like 6.5 quarts but the manual says 6 quarts, but it didnt show up on the dip stick till 6.5 quarts. But ive heard of some going as high as 7.

Mine took 6 even with a new filter. Just changed it yesterday. Its right at midway between the holes on the dipstick.

I just put in 6 quarts i switched it over to mobil one synthetic. I did a motor flush and the engine wasnt' at all too dirty.
