finally did the blend door on one of my mark VIII

during the process hit the passenger seat switch a few times

now the seat fails to operate movement wise , lumbar functions

fuse good ,

took off seat bottom to access floor mounts

found module , so without a star tester, which is most likely

motors shorted, module out , switch crapped

advise appreciated ,

or if anyone has motor tracks for 98 passenger for sale

then this nice collectors edition will be for sale

thanks in advance

They go for outrageous prices on ebay. I've heard Jamie talk about 300 bucks expensive for the gen2s, look for it in a junkyard maybe?

the driverside goes for crazy money because its used more than a passenger side, i have 10 passenger tracks in my shop for 97-98, i'll sell you a whole track complete ready to swap in for $100 plus shipping.

Wait, its a passengers side you need? Who cares about passengers?

jk, since we're on the topic maybe someone has an idea as to why the passengers seat goes forward backward and lumbar works but it doesn't recline? I could care less but I'll ask. I haven't checked fuses because again, my girlfriend practically sits on the dash.

I would suspect the switch, in both cases, mine stopped similarly, I was able to take the switch apart and clean the contacts, works great....
Should be a post about it, be careful, the contacts are spring loaded if I remember correctly, I used dielectric grease to hold everything in place.... ;)

thanks for the help

thanks for the help
what i love about this site and others
such great people involved with these cars
found a set of tracks on feebay for 80
ford doesnt carry the switches either
will try the switch from my other car

will trade a good gen 1 needing title
for a good gen 2 parts car

thanks again for the help
and hate to do it
but the collectors edition will be for sale soon
so i can finish the other 98 lsc sleeper

well tried the other switch to no avail
since it is unlikely all motors failed at the same time
logic dictates it is the processor

guess i will just buy another set of tracks
to get the processor , found one set for 50 bucks

a $50 dollar seat track for a 97-98?? i hope for your sake it works thats awfully cheap if it works.
