quick question. Someone please explain why when i turn on the driver side heated seat the light that comes on is green, but when i turn on the passenger heated seat, the light that comes on is orange. I have a 2000 v8 with pretty much every option. Thanks guys.

does the passenger side light up orange without you turning it on? For example, if you crank the heat up, will the orange light come on?

It's been a while since I read this in the manual, but I think what's going on is that your passenger side is set to heat up automatically based on what the heating/cooling system is doing. I think to return it to manual mode you just have to press and hold the button for a few seconds until it turns back to green. then it should be normal.

Holding the buttons down doesn't change either of them. My owners manual doesn't mention that either. I even unplugged my battery for a stereo related problem, and that didn't change them either. Its not so much of a problem as a curiosity. thanks for the help though.

yeah, when I got into my car to leave work I realized that you have to press both the heat and cool seats buttons at the same time to put them into auto mode. Then just hit one or the other to get out of that.

So that's probably not your answer.

Does the passenger side still heat up?

I don't have cooled seats, and both the heated seats work fine, it just puzzles me. Thanks though.

I also have this problem. 2001 LS w/ heated seats (not the cooled ones, there is a heating element in the seat)

My driver heated seat light is green and it does NOT heat up while the passengers is orange and DOES heat up. I looked in the manual and they are both on the same fuse, so it can't be a bad fuse right? Does that mean it's the heating element? Anyone know how much work/money I am looking to spend to fix this?

The ability to tie the seat climate control into the car's climate control is, along with the ability to cool the seats, a feature that was added in '03--his '00 doesn't have it.

Why the indicators are different colors, I don't know. That may be in TFM, but I don't feel like R'ing it right now. Take a look in the Tech Section (see the top of the forum).
