I screwed up and bought a set of Phillips H9's to upgrade my high beams from what I thought were H11's. :slam I opened one then realized my error, and it's not worth returning the other to Amazon.

I've got $15 in them, so if anyone has an 03-06 with halogen low beams and wants to upgrade, let me know, and I'll ship them CONUS for $11.

Thanks,

Andy

How much of an upgrade is a H9? I have not had an occasion to see the difference. If it is that noticeable, I may have interest.

Thanks for the reply.

The H9 produces nearly twice the light of the H11. The sacrifice is shorter bulb life, but I wouldn't hesitate to make the switch for the added visibility.

From Daniel Stern's lighting page:

H9 - 65W - 2100 LUMENS
H11 - 50W - 1200 LUMENS

(If you check other sources the numbers vary a bit, but the ratio is about the same.)

The H9 and H11 mounting tabs and connectors vary slightly, but the H9 is easily modified. See the link below for details.

And here is another pic showing the whole bulb for comparison:

I assume the LS halogen headlights have a bulb shield just like the HID's. If this is the case, the H9's un-coated tip will not cause any glare issues.
