Ok, so I'm getting ready to buy a car...I want an LS more than any other car in my price range $12K-$15K, but when I told my buddies about it they all said it was an old person's car. Of course, one of them drives a 350z and the other a 3000GT so you can imagine what their opinion is. I just love the LS and the performance is a big reason why. I just hate how they say its an old person's car...I bet my friend with the 3000GT will think that when we race and I smoke him...anyways, does anyone on here think of it as an old person's car?

Buy it, take them for a ride or better yet beat them in a race and they'll change their mind ;)
And even if it is an old person's car, old people are pretty smart, so maybe it's a good purchase then! :D

think so? actually not, its a base and its like 220hp, he thinks its amazing because he has like $4,000 rims...its more about looks than speed...now the 350Z I'm not even gonna try...well actually your LS is a V6 so you might get owned, but I'm probably getting an 03 V8

Also, you'll have a bigger back seat than them. Biger back seat + 2 hot chicks = fun times for all.

:D

+1, our backseats are pretty big, and sometimes fun:D almost as fun as the drivers seat;)

most backseats are a blast...my first car was a buick park avenue....what a back seat!

I wouldn't say it's an old persons car. Lincoln in general, maybe. But not the LS. I have wanted one since the first time I saw it in '99. I was 21 then and like most 21 year olds I had champagne taste and a beer budget, so paid cash for a low mileage 'teg instead. When I was in the market for a new car, this was the only car that I wanted. I really wanted the manual, but the only one I could find that was decent was all the way in Kansas.

The most important thing is whether or not YOU will be happy with an LS? It's not like your friends are helping you with your car payments.

I don't even have a backseat in my LS man. Well I do but I pretty much sit in the back, if I turn my head to the left I'm looking out the read driver side window.

LOL, Your arguing about whether the LS will get owned or not,,lol yet you DONT own one yet?

Also your worried about what your buddies think enuff to make you question what your buying? lol

Dude are you kidding me?

dude, you don't know anything...I am a car salesman...which means i've driven a car or two in my day...including two LS's...and I've driven his 3000, and obviously the LS is faster...I asked a simple question, you don't have to show up and act like a complete douche bag

It's definately not an old persons car, even though I'm an old person......:D
By the way, my "old" persons car has been lowered, it now has a K&N intake, and will soon be getting "tuned" by sct.

Like Quickett said, Lincoln in general sort of has that image. Not as bad as Buick does, but it's there. When i broght mine home my nieghbor was giving me grief for getting rid of my F150 for the LS. this from a guy who sold his Vette to get a minivan...

It probably was an old person's car right off the bat because they were the only ones who could afford the large price tag. now that they're flooding the used market, us people who wanted one back when we were still on the beer budget, are gettting them. I'm guessing the average age of the LS has dropped over the years.

If you get the LS, be prepared to drive your buddies around if you're traveling more than 30 miles together!

The LS is a sleeper somewhat since no one expects it can do what it does. The best part of buying a Lincoln or Cadillac is that 75% +/- of the first owners ARE older people who baby them. Just be prepared to hit a wall with basic power upgrades for this car since there aren't many while your buddies have plenty of options.

probably not going to beat a 350z. Not according to specs that are listed everywhere online. by this I mean 1/8th 1/4 and 0-60. the 3000gt, he has a much better chance unless it is modded and stick.

yea like I said, its the base model, not even the SL, it has no mods but it is however a five speed

:I I'm 6'2 and I couldn't imaging sitting in the back of either a z or a 3kgt. Come to think of it, couldn't imagine sitting in the back of my LS either :steering

yea sitting in the back of a z would be bad...considering there is no back seat lol...I feel ya, I'm 6'1
