Just did an oil change and seems as though there is gasoline in my oil, what is the most common cause for this. Any way to check possible issues? 2001 LS with 3.9l V8

The 2001 LS v8 has a multi-point fuel injection system (like all the other following years). Multi-point fuel injection injects fuel into the intake ports just upstream of each cylinder's intake valve. A leaking injector combined with an open intake valve when an engine is turned off can contribute towards fuel continuing to flow into a cylinder due to residual pressure in the system and wash down into the oil pan. Cause for leaking injectors could be dirt or malfunction.

Leaky injectors are the most likely culprit; I can't think of another way you'd be likely to get gasoline in the crankcase on these cars (other than sabotage). I guess it could, in theory, go through the PCV, but the gas would have to go uphill and against the airflow to get there.

Leaky injectors are a known issue with these cars as they get older, but, IIRC, there's a time range where the symptoms are noticeable (ie, if the car either doesn't sit long enough or sits too long, you won't notice it). If you search on leaky injectors you should find something useful. Maybe...

Leaky injector?
Really bad coils?
Bad fuel pressure sensor?

Black smoke when starting?

Had someone else drive it very very recently whom may have cranked on it too much.

Any time I've ran into this issue the cylinders basically became over filled with fuel and ran past the pistons/rings into the oil.....if it's only a little bit that went in, it should burn up after the first drive.
