g1 vs g2 engine

What is the difference between the two engines? From a visual point the throttle body is in different places so the intake mani is different. So would putting the intake mani on a gen 1 bring any advantages? Think the fuel lines would.match up and work? Well I guess the throttle mechanism is different, so is there a throttle body that would fit on the gen 2 intake that is throttle by wire?

the throttle body for the 2nd gen is throttle by wire!

It will "drop on", but you won't be able to bolt it down with all the bolts.. Maybe 2-4 would actually line up.. I wouldn't feel safe with that imho.. And you still have to deal with the throttle body and fuel supply.. Injectors aren't the same either..

You would need to replace all the computers as well.

I thought he was just talking about the intake.. yea, he would have to replace all the computers and electronics or lock the VVT..

thanks for all the info. I was looking at a picture of someone's engine bay and it made me wonder...plus I like where the intake tube comes out and was wondering if anybody has done it
