Did my brakes this weekend (too many pics)

Hey dudes, used the extended weekend to work on the LS... Much needed maintenance complete.


Check out the photos:

Front rotors were unpainted, so I had to change that:

Comparing a rear (painted) rotor to the front:

Masking off with leftover vinyl scraps from my wraps:

Time to get the LS up in the air, can't fit jack without some help!

Knocking out the fuel filter since I will be down here anyways, this job is easy:

Catch bottle for old fluid:

Caliper pin bolts snapped off. That's okay, got new ones.

Hanging caliper by wire for compression of the piston:

Since the LS has vaginas as rear brakes, I filled in the indention on top of the caliper to create more flat surface (you will see why, further down):

Painting the calipers:

Front Brakes:

Rears, notice the newly flat surface houses a star now:

At this time I painted all my wheel weights black to match (was super annoying having them silver). And decided to give the wheels a thorough bath, with them being off and all:

Raybestos rotors, and Duralast Gold CMax pads.

Nice caliper job!...how did you paint that Lincoln logo?

Star is a decal, that was really tedious to apply - then cleared over it and the caliper(s).

What do you mean by filled in? What did you use as filler?

I used quiskteel and just sanded over it.

I didn't do any prep work other than wire brush and brake cleaner.

So how much fluid did you end up using?

A little bit more than 1 liter. I probably could have been fine with a liter or less, but since I had 2 liters of fluid, I went ahead and made for sure all the old was drained out and let the new blue stuff run through each caliper a bit.
