Here there and everywhere
I drilled the front part of the airbox the part that sits behind the headlights, was that not a good idea? I get a C/L once in awhile, car runs and drives smooth, no miss nothing purrs like a kitten. No, I have not had the codes ran! It is an hour one way to somewhere that can scan it, and I didn't feel like driving that far with the gas light on.

If it was a bad idea I will fiberglass all the holes, which look like I let a retard drill.:D

Get the code. Drilling the air-box PRE-FILTER is ok and will not trigger a CL.

I'll get the codes as soon as possible, I'm guessing the o2's. The car sat for around 2 years before I bought it then about 9-10 months until I had it roadworthy! Had I know it sat so long I would have passed, to late now these are better then my old mustang!

That's what you get for drilling holes in the airbox. How would you like it if someone drilled holes in you trachea? That's your windpipe. :p

If the car idles and runs fine, then drive the hour to get the codes pulled. A good investment would be a cheap $100 (or less) OBD II scanner.

Good luck.

I live in the middle of freakin nowhere and am 20 minutes from a Vatozone. Somehow I doubt you are an hour away from one.

Correct.

These n00bs need to start letting people know WTF year their cars are. We don't have freakin' crystal balls. Brass balls, yes. Crystal balls... not so much.
Maybe its an LS?

:p

That's to the closest autozone, the one in algood might be a few minutes shorter. Zip code is 38551, I messed something up.

Then get a paper clip and run the codes yourself.

You are not joking are you? I will have to search that.

Mine was sitting in someone's yard for about 3 or 4 years in Clinton. I did a LOT of work to get that car! Are you in Cookeville?

No... Surprisingly, he's not joking...

I seen! I never knew you could do that, I found another thread where sapperfire posted an image of how to do it. See the search function is not broken just some people are to lazy to use it!:D

I seen one just like yours for sell in a field, then seen it or maybe you driving in the algood wal-mart parking lot. No, I'm 45-50 minutes north of there on the KY boarder, you know the big lake? But I'm from Florida originally. We moved back to Tennessee over a year ago, and I spotted my mark sitting in a field with a smashed front clip, busted moonroof, and nasty interior.

I don't go to Cookeville, but I know the car you are talking about. I saw it at the DMV one day and wanted to buy the grill and headlights. haha

I had the same thoughts when I seen it for sell, other then the headlights which I didn't need. I don't blame you for not going to cookeville, that town just sucks. 20 minutes that would be Sparta or Monterey right?

I bet if you clean your mass air sensor your problem will solve itself. Those holes being there won't mess with anything, but if you got some dirt in there while doing it...... if you were closer I'd say you could bring it to my house & I'll read your codes & finish the rest of your intake hacking.

Now that you mention it, I had the whole airbox apart for about 6 months just sitting in the car it could be dirty. I'll read the codes and get some maf cleaner this week and see if that fixes it. You know all the time I have lived here I was in Nashville one time, to go to the pull a part.

Nope. I am in Crossville. It would take longer than 20 minutes if I did the speed limit I guess....

Alright call me retarded! Where/how do you get the code when you jump thing? I'm guessing a multi/ohm meter. I have never done this before, that's the only reason I'm asking this retarded of a question!
