I just had my car at the lincoln dealer for about 3 hrs for them to come back to me and say the coils are bad. They also said that there were more coads that they found but could not pull them up untill the coils were replaced. I just had the coils replaced at about 50,000 miles and now i am at about 103,000 miles. When I replaced the coils replaced they also replaced the v cover gasket because it was leaking any ideas why the coils went bad again?

well - how long ago did the VC gaskets get replaced?

many LS owners that first discovered the leaky VC issue, replaced the gaskets only to have the same issue later..... that is until the VC gaskets were re-designed in late 2002. Once replace with the re-designed gaskets - the problem typically went away - that is if it was caused by oil in the coils...

they were replaced the same day as the coils. this was back in 2004 forgot the exact date but around november or so.
