I have an 86 Silverado c10 w/ a 4bbl and about 200k; I drive it about 1-2x/month, 20 miles total approx. Awhile ago the tank selector starting acting up periodically: not wanting to divert to the other tank; I'm using the truck to move 60 miles away next week so I filled up the LH side tank, a few minutes later I noticed gas leaking profusely onto the asphalt. Leaking from a solid open line on the bottom of the valve body.
---
the tank selector valve itself has 4 ports into it and two ports out: 2 from each tank in, and 2 out total, there's also a 2 lines that tee into one around the diverter: one from each tank to one towards the engine/carb. For me, it's not worth the $100 for the luxury of an extra tank I don't need
my plan is to take the lines from the full LH tank and connect them with the two lines from the valve to the carb.
the elec connector for the valve body has 6 wires
seems simple? what could go wrong? one is a supply, one's a fuel return?
----
any good suggestions or pitfalls?
