Guys, i am changing my secondary chain tensioner and i need to remove the exhaust cam to get it in and out. Does anyone know what the torque specs are for the secondary chain tensioner and the exhaust cam?? Any help would be great!!

Tight as a mofo?

I agree about more info needed, I only have gen 1 shop manuals.

Tight as a mofo and then another 1/4 turn actually :D

I would help but my stuff is at home. I remembered the additional 1/4 turn though.

Secondary timing chain tensioner bolts are torqued at 11Nm (97 lb-in)

And for the camshaft sprockets:

Tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft), then another 1/4 turn.

Yep! I lol'ed when I read it in the shop manual :D

Oh, and one other piece of info I sent to Eleanor88 viam pm.

He wanted to know torque specs on the cam bearing caps too.

First off, they are positional, so you have to reuse them in the same location and orientation.

Second, you start torquing the middle bolts first, and work your way outwards, alternating between firewall side and hood side of the center cap.

Third, torque specs:

First, hand tighten
Second, tighten to 6Nm
Third, tighten another 1/4 turn

Little tip: the bearing caps have little arrows on the top pointing forward, if incase you drop it or something :)

Thanks guys for the help! got it back running but still issues :( i will enter a new thread..
