hello everyone,
im new to this. i have a 02 v6 ls with 118,000 miles on it. about a month ago leaving work i got a cold start, it finally started ran normal, not thinking much about it, i stoped at a store. 15 minutes later came out, started up really low idle then shut off before i even pull out my parking spot. tried cranking it, would not start. like if it ran out of gas, but still had a 1/4 tank. so i towed it home. next day i start checking everything. i put 2.5 gallons of gas, nothing. next i checked fuel pressure, i had no fuel pressure. i checked fuel pump fuse in trunk it was blown! changed it, started right up. ran good for about a month no cold starts, ran like 2 full tanks all the way till gas light went on, no problems. today stoped to eat, came out no start. fuel tank was at 1/4 full, just like last time. put 3 gallons in, no start. i checked the fuse, blown again! changed it still no start. so towed it home, can't figure it out. why is it blowing out that fuse? any help please

The pumps shot and shorting out from what it sounds. Get a new pump. Im dealing with a burnt pump right now myself,...sucks!

A new one...p/n YW4Z-9H307-BB lists for $308.07 and LVC is $231.05 plus shipping if you wanted to know.

I had the same problem with my Mustang when I drilled through the frame to mount the pump for my alcohol injection kit and hit the wire for the fuel pump.

I would check all the wiring before you do anything. Maye you can just get away with replacing some wires if its something related to that like mrshl13.

i have checked the wiring. if the jet pump goes bad, the gas on the fuel pump side runs out, and the gauge still reads 1/4 tank, and from me cranking it get fuel pump gets hot , blows the fuse till finally blows the fuel pump. it that possible? do i replace jet pump? i've read its not even an actual pump.

i've read its not even an actual pump.

Exactly. I read its not either and has minimal that can go wrong.

I dont know, Im stumped. Like I said I have a problem with my pump right now but IM to tied up and lazy to go out and even look at the fuses.
