Bigger Wheels make car slower didn,t know that

I know that Bigger Wheels hurt Gas Mileage but i didn,t know they make the car slower
i was told that if you put a 20 on your car
that youll probly be going paster then 60 MPh if your Spedomiter sess your going 60 your probly going 62-64
was i told rong
i know that i was told id loose probly like 3 to 4 miles to the gallon

yes to both questions. Its because of the weight. The heavier the car is the less the gas mileage and the slower it will be. Unless the wheel is made of some lightweight titanuim or aluminum and cost ALOT, then the wheel is going to be alot heavier than the stock wheel. Do a simple test. When you get your rims, pick up one with a 20" tire put on. Then pick up one of your stock wheel/tire. I bet your new rims are heavier.
