Another overheating ls

02 ls v8. All plastic parts new. Still overheats. Started car today and could hold the fan with my hand and spin it in reverse with the motor rpms at 1500 or higher. I am lost is this a bad fan or controller.

You can a hydraulic fan. The only PCM control over it is how fast it goes. If it it turning backwards (and thus blowing in the wrong direction), then there is some weird problem with the hydraulic motor.

Replaced the fan actuator. Problem solved

Please stop sticking your fingers into any fan shroud area of any car running or not and/or fan broken or not, it's simply not a good idea. Use a stick if you must.
