98 lsc no ac

I got the itch for a mark and i looked at a 98 lsc the other day. Heat blows hot and if you turn temp down air blows cooler but ac does not come out cold. Compressor works and turns on. Any ideas? Assumong its not blend door because i can get a temp change.....

Just because the compressor detects enough pressure to cycle doesn't mean there's enough refrigerant in the system to effectively cool the air. It's probably low on refrigerant. Slap a gauge on the low pressure port and you'll know.

does the fan turn on?
and is the condensor full of crap?

no air flow over the condenser will cause poor cooling.

Damn, well you got a leak somewhere.

Mine leaks too. Two cans every year in May lasts until about December when I notice the compressor quits kicking on.

Next time buy the cans with th dye in it. Dont use the stuff with the leak sealer if you ever want a shop to hook up to it. When it leaks out use a black light to find the leak. Whatever you do don't look by the evaporator case drain tube unless you want to pull the dash... I did it in my old mark.... never again..
