I am in the process of installing 3:73 gears in my 97 lsc and know I am hearing the transmission snap ring is a weak link and will break with the higher rpms .I would appreciate any input from someone who has put 3:73s in a mark
4r70,aod,aode all have been noted to pop the snap ring between the intermediate and reverse clutch.usually replaced with sonix spiral snap ring 76554rk.many cars running 3.73/4.10,crap driveshafts and driveshaft speed is what will hurt you.
I am also about to install 373 gears and a trac lok in my 96 lsc.I am also going to install a 4 inch aluminum driveshaft at the same time. The car has 43k miles on it.Do I need to worry about this snap ring in the trans?
