Hi!

I've been learning from you , ty for that.,this is my first car ,now i have some issues with the radio installing.

I'm replacing the factory head unit "Alpine" premium sound 8 speaker(4 doors/2 central tweeters/2 rear subwoofer).

I downloaded the wiring diagram from my alldata account but there are others diagrams that has different conections, is this correct ?,i don't want to blow it up.
Looks like the 16 pin connector has the audio signals,I'm confused.

The attached one is from alldata.

Thanks!

in this picture, the rightmost harness has the constant, acc, ground, and speaker wires in it.

the leftmost connector is amp input and turn on signals for the center effect speakers (i would not recommend hooking up) and the subwoofers

there are many many threads already about putting radios in. I would seek one of them out for help...

Hi 1LoudLS!

Ty for reply ,
so the pinout downloaded from alldata is wrong?
I've been reading about installations but the pinout looks different that's why I'm confused.

regards!!

I unplug all the harness and left the 20 pin connector,It does not sound .

Just plug the 16 pin connector and the radio turns on and sounds.
The 8pin connector turns on the subwoofer and tweeters.
So the right connector is the 16 pin as you told me, the wiring diagram from alldatadiy does not fit with my system.

Also I tested the wires with a multimeter looking for ground , accessory and constant voltage signals.

Any wiring diagram ??

regards!!!

I have something. I'll try to post it tonight.

I don't have the factory diagrams for gen I, but this should do well enough.

Thank you !
I'll share the status soon.

Regards! !

just incase this isnt known, while the wires on your aftermarket harness for the 8 pin plug are gray and white wires are not speaker wires, do not wires them up with the other gray, gray/black, white, and white/black wires... they are low level inputs, you will need to add RCA connectors to them so that they can plug into the correct RCA pre amp output on the radio. some wire harnesses already come with the RCA connector at the end of the wires...

Hi!

Now it's alive :dj:.

The four door speakers works good.

For a little test sounds good , i don't know if some of the speaker were out of phase by a inverted connection.

I add an RCA connector to the 8 pin connector to manage the subwoofer from the HU preouts, sounds good but i have the pop noise.
The subwoofer preamp outs from the pioneer are mono so i just plug the RCA to left connector.
Measuring the voltage of remote line from my HU i got 12v so reading other post seems that the amp works with 5v-7v.

I'll try the 12 to 5v regulator to fix the pop noise until then the subwoofer is disconnected.

No tweeter connected.

Thanks again!!!

Updates soon. :D

i don't know if some of the speaker were out of phase by a inverted connection.
the phase should be fine as long as you followed the color code and matched all the wires up when wiring the two harnesses together.

I'll try the 12 to 5v regulator to fix the pop noise until then the subwoofer is disconnected.
exactly, or you can just use a resistor to stop the pop (I use 1450 ohm)

...I'll try the 12 to 5v regulator to fix the pop noise until then the subwoofer is disconnected.
...

Don't waste time and effort on putting a regulator in. Just use a 1K to 2K resistor in series between the head unit remote out and the car's remote in wire. This works better than using a regulator.

Hi , the pop noise go away, i can hear it just a little.
1.8Kohms series resistor.

the tweeter cables were unplug from the 8 pin connector , now the connector fits with some insulation tape.

The metal brackets are different as many others which i saw so that's why my dash kit does not fit correctly , I had to made some holes ,now it can hold the radio but it needs some adjustment.

thanks again !:Beer

*Next update will be the SWC, maybe I'll do the interface just if i can get the pioneer protocol or just buy the ASWC-1.
I like diy xD

Regards!
