2000 3.9 LS 5r55n split date; 1999 build date

I'm a bit confused regarding transmissions. When I looked at acquiring a transmission I looked at remanufactured units and used units. The remanned units have a split date of 4-17 and 4-18 while no one seems to account for the split in the used transmission market.

Is there a functional difference between the units built before and after 04-17-2000 or are the internal parts physically different but the transmissions can be swapped for each other. ?

That is probably a question to be directed to a reman outfit. Check your numbers and be prepared to tell them your origination date.
