Decided to not spend $900 on rear axle suspension components and just upgrade to a 2014 kia optima SX turbo. Just gonna park the LSE (05) V8 and fix it up slowly over the years.
Thanks for all the help guys.
So while my mechanic prepared to remove and install new rear control arms, he was alarmed by the amount of frame rust on both sides of the vehicle to the point where he told me to just scrap the car and get a new one.
The rust resembles this:
What should I do? Fix the control arms and ride...
picture says it all...part is unattached and bent upwards.
My question is how did this happen? What part is this and can I change it myself without issue?
This has caused loud creaking sounds in the rear for weeks.
Well, I've finally isolated the buzzing noise in my car to be the radio or subwoofer because whenever I turn off the radio the noise goes away and when I turn it back on after while when I turn the volume up and the bass kicks in the sound comes back.
My question is, is this a blown subwoofer...
My 05 Lincoln LS V8 has recently been making a creaking noise when hitting bumps or going over bumps slowly in parking lots, etc.
Could this be worn suspension components? 196k as of today. ABS light has been on for months with the 'check advance trac' message (not sure if this is related)...
Recently cracked the bottom of my LSE front bumper. It's a minor crack but I can't stand it. Would patching and repainting be cheaper than getting a new bumper?
I recently noticed a humming noise coming from the rear (interior) of my car when the car is in reverse or drive. Noise goes away immediately when in park.
What could this be ?
My upper rad hose cracked on the plastic portion and it's spewing coolant all over my engine -_- Don't have the money to get a new hose until friday...my mechanic suggested high temp resistant epoxy to seal the crack in the meantime.
Any suggestions?!
As title says, im tired of using the cd changer and I want a bluetooth aftermarket deck that will work perfectly fine with my lincoln ls.
Any suggestions (ease of install, etc would be helpful)
So I finally used the scanner to see what the issue with my 2005 lincoln ls v8 sport was and the reader says cylinder 4 misfire.
This is the only error it comes up with.
My mechanic says to just change that coil and see if it fixes the issue before spending $500+ on all 8.
Thoughts?
So it was terrible slushy snowy weather out on my way home from work and when I began sliding the rpms dropped and the lights dimmed with the error etc engine fail safe mode. The coils were replaced last year...
The check advance trac and the abs light are always on prior to this. The engine...
What is the step by step procedure for installing a serpentine belt on my 2005 Lincoln LSE v8s Sport?
My original post about the charging system has been diagnosed by popping the hood and seeing that the drive belt has fallen off. (The one the mechanic installed was the wrong size)
I bought...
Hi,
My 2005 Lincoln LSE V8's headlamps aren't working at all. The fog lights work and so do the blinkers. I haven't checked the fuses yet and I don't think the bulbs are bad because they were replaced 2 years ago.
The fuse box is located in a hard to reach spot and what tool would I need to...
