I would say your thermostat is sticking if the tank is still full. As cheap as a new one is ($10) and how easy it is to replace it, I would start there. Both my Navi's running about 180-200 tops all year round.
This is from the service manual.
1. Disconnect the upper radiator hose, the heater...
Did the Brown Wire Mod this weekend. The reasoning behind this was to eliminate the binding feeling in the front when making low speed turns in AWD.
On these Navi's, the 4x4 selector switch has 3 positions - AWD, 4HI, and 4LO.
No 2HI position.
In AWD, the truck is usually driving around in 2...
Sounds like your not getting power to your factory amps, thus no audio. With my Navigator, I had to buy a separate harness just to retain use of the factory amps that didn't come with any kit. As far as the black screen, that sounds like you have no power going to the radio itself which could...
I put a Kensun 35w HID kit in my 2001 Navigator about a year ago. Last night as I was driving home from work, the headlights went dead. After looking around a little, I found the cheap relay controller box melted. Instead of waiting for another one to be ordered and shipped, I decided to...
Had a heater core hose break at the rubber hose to plastic quick connector joint on the engine side of the heater core on my 2001 Lincoln Navigator. Found out that none of the local auto parts carries a suitable replacement part. They offered a Dorman brand quick connector that is straight but...
First thing that come to my mind is a vacuum leak. If the noise is happening only when the brake is applied, replace the brake booster check valve ($5). Otherwise, check the vacuum lines around the engine while it's running for leaks, collapsed lines, etc.
I agree. I have a '99 rwd that I replaced the airbags with the Monroe 4wd coil kit and I am much happier with the ride. Over time things fail and just end up snowballing with these air ride systems. I don't hear a noisy compressor kicking on and off anymore which is awesome.
I have put HID's in both my 99 and 01 Nav's. I used the Kensun kit for both headlamp and foglights. It was pretty much plug-n-play. No one makes an HID projector headlamp assembly for the first gen body style like mine so if you have that style, you will have to make your own if you desire that...
From my experience in installing Pioneer AVIC's in both mine, you have to cut out the plastic in the dash that comes down at angle. You will also have to modify your dash bezel trim piece at the top opening for clearance of the front of the radio. I used a dremel tool for all this.
A guy over...
