:confused: my 01 LS V8 starts but idles crappy and dies unless im on the gas, where do I start?

Just did an oil change and seems as though there is gasoline in my oil, what is the most common cause for this. Any way to check possible issues? 2001 LS with 3.9l V8

I have an 01 LS V8 175k milesthat has recently started overheating, once normal operating temp is reached a"fan?" sound starts getting loud, gets louder with acceleration. I have checked for leaks and found none, system appears pressurized since when removing cap i can hear the pressure release...
