    New question

How is this engine for bleeding air from the upper bleed port? Does it act normally and generate good stream flow when opened up to bleed? Reason I ask is that when my engine went south on my V6, the problem ended up being the impeller had fallen off the water pump, where you would not see it...

    Pilot bearings

If anyone is interested, my 2000 is actually available if anyone needs it for any reason, be it parts, restoration, etc. And there is a good pilot bearing buried in there! Also a functioning hydraulic cooling system, a good transmission (replaced at around 180k), a completely re-bushed rear...

    Bleeding nightmares...

Every single leak I experience after engine cooling system work is always from a worm hose clamp. And I know I got them tight when I installed them. They still get loose. I find the same thing with my turbo hose clamps on my wrx-s. Every oil change, check and re-torque is my routine. I try to...

    New problem

My actuators always failed when it was in the 90s outside. Sounds like a conversion to electric fan would be indicated. As you say, that fan is not spinning fast and it should be spinning fast when it is hot outside and the a/c is running. So probably the fan change and the plastics renewal...

    Tired rod ends.

Just find the shortest alignment shop drive and get the car there asap. If it is not a short trip, have it towed, unless you want your tires to be toast in short order, because they will be! And to clubairth, he said it was clicking, so slop in the ball joints of the tie rod end. It may have...

    Traction Control light keeps flashing

The recirc door is not too bad to service, you just have to pull the sound panel or whatever is covering the underside of the dash and one air duct in order to get to it. On mine, the servo likely broke the rod, and I epoxied the rod and bought a servo, but never installed it or reconnected the...

    Where to buy coil springs

I did the same thing, car was starting to bottom out on quite normal transitions from parking lots onto streets. Bought a pair of rear used coilover oem shocks and solved the problem, since Eibach springs had settled the rear down 2 inches under stock ride height. I did not have to change the...

    Differential : Rebuild or Replace?

Could have happened. The problem is that the diff is bolted to the subframe and has to move forward to be able to drop. There is no way to move forward that I can think of. So that means that you need to drop the exhaust, the heat shield assembly and the driveshaft first. I hope that you find an...

    Differential : Rebuild or Replace?

You'll need to drop the rear subframe in order to do this, and that entire assembly is quite a handful, be sure to have a lot of jack and jack stands ready to balance this whole thing. Maybe a floor transmission jack would be useful. It is not an easy job. Especially if there is not a lift...

    Manual 5 speed owners?

No worries George, I'll be sticking around. The heart thing is a nice new lease on life, getting through the first month or 2 is the hardest part. When your time comes, try to get them to do a titanium plate to close up your sternum instead of stainless steel wire. With the wire, you have to...

    Manual 5 speed owners?

It is ready anytime, its registration ends on June 30th but I really no longer need the car. I had a Subaru and the LS was its backup, because with a Subaru, you should always have a backup car. I got another Subaru last spring, which came with a non-running spun bearing engine. I found out on...

    Misfire/Runnin Rouggh

My V6 had that issue due to a severed vacuum line for the PCV. Any vacuum leak will lead to rough idle, but at cruising or driving speeds, there is little impact at all.

    Misfire/Runnin Rouggh

Absolutely solid advice! I had a bad #6 misfire on my V6. Changed cops to no avail. It turned out to be a bad spark plug and that plug was not very old.

    Car Wizard

Good video, nice heads up for unsuspecting buyers about the Euro roots. Unfortunately, the man assumes that the V6 is also from Jaguar but entirely misses the fact that it is a Ford Duratec V6 with mods to become a longitudinally installed engine with power upgrades. Kind of like the Jaguar...

    2000 LsV8 / No spark /

You need a return path to check voltage, without grounding one side of the meter, there is no way to read the voltage. There is nothing abnormal about this. :)
