    Sport 16mm front knuckle availability?

Maybe it was 2001 Oct/Nov when the engine tensioners were upgraded in the 3.9 to the metal version vs plastic and that’s why that stuck in my head.

    Sport 16mm front knuckle availability?

I know my LSs and she’s most definitely not an 03. I just don’t know manufacturing dates apparently Not sure why November came to mind, I felt certain, but door tag says June. Now Im curious and want to check my VIN for exact date. Which I suppose June would be close enough to the 03...

    Sport 16mm front knuckle availability?

Interesting. I could’ve sworn there was something else suspension wise besides the shocks that the sport had. Guess I just assumed all sports had 16mm because I do. I have a Nov 2002 production date so that would make sense with the mid-year changes that happened in July.

    Sport 16mm front knuckle availability?

So what I’m hearing is owners with a sport LS are stuck with pressing in new ball joints, or rolling the dice with an aftermarket knuckle assembly? If so, what brand ball joint? I can attest that Moog is not a good brand like they were a decade ago with my two failed joints.

    Sport 16mm front knuckle availability?

Not to be confrontational, but why aren’t there reman knuckles in circulation then? Unless the available units are and just being stated as new. I also don’t see anything in the service manual about ball joint removal. I agree it’s not rocket science, but there is a difference to sending...

    Sport 16mm front knuckle availability?

This has been discussed before on changing joints. I did the originals with a friend on a harbor freight 15 ton press and some custom axle nuts welded to square tubing to get things to line up. PITA and the results…well we know where that ended up. The “S” shape of the knuckle makes pressing a...

    Sport 16mm front knuckle availability?

Thanks for digging. It’s such a gamble and I’ve seen the results of failed ball joints to know it’s something worth the cost of doing right. Had my first born in ‘18 right as the right side had a noticeable pop and grind after a year of the Moog replacement ball joint. The $400 Motorcraft...

    Sport 16mm front knuckle availability?

Title pretty much says it. Looking for Motorcraft 16mm knuckle for driver side. I put Moogs in several years back, passenger side started to fail just after a year and made the wise move and replaced the knuckle with OEM. Now the driver side is starting to make some sound and of course I start...

Running rich, fuel smoke from exhaust.

Looking back at your original post, there could be failed cats which I beleive if they’re clogged would present the codes, rattle and lack of power. Do you ever get a rotten egg smell? Joegr or other members could confirm my suspicions. But cops that have been bad for a period of time usually...

Running rich, fuel smoke from exhaust.

Is this rattle in park or in drive? Under heavy load? I ask because I have a rattle when I go up a hill in 4th or 5th. Been doing that ever since I had the car, believe it to be the aftermarket catalytic converter or torque converter. Most likely, it’s a heat shield for you. Timing chain...

    OEM or aftermarket lug nuts?

I bought some aftermarket Ford/GM lugs from Autozone or another parts store when I got my car in 2012....similar experience to those Toyota’s. They were chamfered instead of flanged and had a horrible time getting them centered. Bought those Dormans in 2013 and still have them on my car. A few...

    Thinking about selling....

You have a point but there is a counter argument: 1. Yes, Jaguar ranks lower on reliability, but it’s middle of the pack. I think I hear this now because of historical bias (80s-00s). Across the board vehicle reliability has gone up, and Jaguar is no exception. These models specifically I’ve...

    HORRIBLE SQUEAKING

I get what info you were after, and think you made the right choice. What’s a good ball joint go for $30-40? Add the powerflex replacement for the uppers at $30-40 per and your over $100 while a brand new ford UCA costs ~$120. To me, the time and possible damage pressing ball joints and...

    Thinking about selling....

Im surprised the XF or the XJL doesn’t get mentioned much when the “LS replacement topic” comes up. A member bought an XF several years back and ever since I saw his sig, I’ve always been attracted to the mid-model (2012+) XF. However, one thing I’ve always disliked about the LS is the interior...

    Stubborn Front End Clunk

I no longer buy Moog after having a ball joint start failing within three years, I only drive 4,000 a year so that’s only a year on the road. However, depending if the stabilizer bushing went or the link went, one could cause the other to fail prematurely. So maybe the stabilizer bushing caused...

    buying rear LCAs

Yeah, the time/cost ratio makes it harder to justify the effort of getting bushings installed. Luckily I enjoy the learning experience and challenge and had my buddies 10-ton harbor freight special to do the job. It took several hours and a bit of a mess (not to mention the smell from burning...

Avoid MasterPro Power Steering Pumps for the LS

I gotta say, I have a similar experience but with A1 Cardon. I’ve had it for four years now but when it’s cold (anything below the 40s) and it starts whining. This was from the day I replaced it. I also bought a reman Motorcraft, but haven’t had the motivation to get in there and replace it...

    buying rear LCAs

Im gonna ask, why are they being replaced, didn’t see the reason in previous posts. I assume because the bushings are shot. If so, why not replace the bushings like myself and others have. I did the Powerflex black bushings last December and so far it’s still holding up. I want to say it was...

    Lincoln LS Supercharger

I’m curious as to why you went with the AJ35 and not the AJ30, adding to the complexity of wiring. My understanding is that the Eaton blower went on a non-variable cam AJ27, so a AJ30 conversion (00-02) would appear to be an easier undertaking on paper. Also, as another member asked, what would...
