    bad thermostat?

the idea of the burp procedure is to get all of the air out of your system...including your heater core. you said that your heater is not blowing hot, heat will come out from the burp procedure if you turn your heater on max. the whole idea of the burp procedure is to get all the air out of...

    bad thermostat?

When heater is on, its the fan blowing thru it bringing hot air into the cabin. the heater core should always have coolant in it thats why u need to turn on the heater to max when doing the coolant burp procedure to make sure it gets ALL of the air out of the entire system.

    bad thermostat?

No heat generally means that your heater core is full of air and coolant doesn't get to it, meaning there is alot of air in the system. see here for a good write up with pics on coolant burp procedure: https://www.reischeperformance.com/refill.html let us know what your find.

    bad thermostat?

Man I feel your pain! You have to take it to a mechanic who specifically knows how to work on the 4v 4.6. I learned that the hard way too. I would redo the full coolant burp procedure yourself from when the engine is cold.. it might take several cycles to get all the air out. There should be a...

    bad thermostat?

That’s barely one or needle marks past the middle, mines like that or slightly higher all the time in AZ summer. I wouldn’t worry about. I don’t know why it goes back to middle with the ac off. Mine usually comes down with the ac on. Off the top of my head I would think it has to do with engine...

    bad thermostat?

The air in the system would only be in the crossover tube I think. That’s the highest point of the system, designed this way to trap air if it’s in the system. The best way to know is to get an ultra gauge (or scangauge) to see real time the exact temperature. I also was chasing overheating...

    bad thermostat?

Yes you shouldn’t have a problem. If you live somewhere where it gets very cold then 195 should be ok. But for the south and southwest (I’m in Phoenix) most people run 170 or 180 or lower to keep intake air temps down. These engines run hot so anything you can do to make them run slightly cooler...

    bad thermostat?

Definitely sure because I own both cars. This is in reference to the size of the thermostats. You can get them 160, 170, 180, 188, and 195 degrees. Most people recommend 170 or 180. I have a 180 thermostat I bought from rock auto: Stant Superstat 14138 180 degrees. You can use any thermostat...

96 Mark VIII not entering key remote programing mode

My new to me 96 mark viii (made 5-96) will not enter key remote programing mode. It's a non-PATS car and when I tried to jump the 2 wires on the grey plug behind the dash nothing happens. I even took apart the wire connector to try to clean the terminals thinking it could be corrosion but still...
