    Repair procedure---Heater hose---Gen I

That's irrelevant. I don't believe having to replace the entire cooling system top to bottom because it literally rots away every 6 years flat is reasonable or acceptable. My Mark VIII's pressurized bottle is 23 years old. It has yet to rot away because it wasn't made from inferior product in an...

    Radio Suggestions - 2003 V8 LS

The phone will work without using data as well. They don't need to be activated with a plan, the GPS signal is independent of that nowadays and it'll work right off the shelf. You could use wifi at home to download the maps onto the phone and then simply activate the application in the car to...

    Radio Suggestions - 2003 V8 LS

Do people still spend all that money on head units with navigation? Seems like a waste of money to me when even a $30 prepaid phone from Walmart has navigation abilities now.

    Smashed Exhaust and Emission

P0430 is an emissions code, not necessarily a car performance code. Your LS probably does run fine. P0430 is telling on you that your car is polluting too much for Big Brother's taste.

Buying a Lincoln LS....looking for advice

Don't know. There's one near by on a dealer's lot for $1700 and the sheet claims no mechanical issues, driven for 50 miles to test, and all cooling system pieces were replaced within the last year with OEM stuff. Checked it out when they were closed. Interior looks clean, no body rust, it's...

Buying a Lincoln LS....looking for advice

Anyone think a 2003 Lincoln LS with 173,000 miles with a completely replaced cooling system (degas, radiator, hoses) is worth $1700?

part number for intake manifold bolts? 2006 ls

That's almost 4x as much as any intake bolt I've ever torqued to. That's insane man, that didn't sound crazy to you before you did it?

    Repair procedure---Heater hose---Gen I

Seems like for the long term someone's going to have to engineer a better replacement for the LS' degas bottle other than chinese dorman's crap. For how much the OEM one is going for I bet someone could make and sell one that's properly made. Who knows, perhaps there is a metal tank out there...

Help please 01 ls v8 hydraulic pump

Well you can, I used to do it on my junkers all the time when a $5 can would get me A/C for 6 months, wasn't worth it to fix it. Just means the A/C system's operating life is diminished and it's not as efficient.

    LS Battery

Interstate quality is not worth the price ever since they moved manufacturing to Mexico and China several years ago.

Better take out those darn new fangled radios from these horseless carriages too.

    bad alternator or pcm?

Is that really the best price in Canada? Motorcraft Alternators are half that much on rockauto here.

    O2 sensor

Unless the only person on this Earth that has the part is the Dealer you should never buy anything from a Dealer. Rockauto, fleabay, and Amazon are what you need to be using.

Might finally be jumping ship for a SHO

The Transits were originally dressed up with nonsensical creature comfort features in order to exploit a tariff loophole. If they added those "features" they didn't count as commercial light trucks which are taxed higher than "passenger vehicles". Cost Ford a hundred or three but saved them...

    My $400 LS Registry

The downstream O2 sensors only do one thing and that's tattle on you when your catalytic converters are no longer scrubbing the legal minimum of pollutants from the exhaust gases. I imagine they are calibrated to such a degree that only the strictest catalytic converters scrub enough out to keep...

Done with the LS problems,,it's going away !

If the expense of new tires is a serious consideration on someone's financials they shouldn't be in the business of owning luxury vehicles, regardless of the vehicles' age.

Done with the LS problems,,it's going away !

I'm not sure how I can take a post complaining that the tires are worn out as a reason to get rid of a car seriously. Sounds like satire.

    My $400 LS Registry

I don't know what sort of system the LS uses but if it's the tried and true cable system Ford was fond of then that typically means the cable is stretched out and pretty soon that handle is going to stop opening the door at all.

    My $400 LS Registry

I was curious to see what an LS would run me to insure after reading this thread and my company quoted me $29 a month for minimum liability. I pay $20 a month for my Mark VIII's insurance so it's quite a bit of a step up. $200 a month? Lol, guess I won't be moving to your state any time soon...
