97 and 98 Mark gas tanks...interchangable?

ok guys I have a 97 and it needs a tank. I can get a 98 tank from a collectors edition thats local. But I think they are different due to the evap tray lines. Now my question is can the lines be customized to fit? I think Laser might have this answer. Laser where you at man?

From where I buy from, it's showing to be discontinued but it was showing $796 + shipping.
