LS Vinyl Wrap Project

The hood looks sick!!! Great work

Have always loved your posts but can't even begin to imagine what a pain in the arse this must be. Continued good luck, it does look cool so far.

Got a fender done today. I jacked up the little trim piece, so I am not going to install this until last (if have leftover vinyl, probably redo it).

Looks good Drizzle! You'll have a one of a kind LS when you're all done and major props for doing it yourself.

I've been following this thread and don't think it's been asked, but are you waxing the parts before you put the vinyl on them or just washing them? I've been curious about the prep.

post 116...

Thanks bull, it is a lot of fun.

I am vinyling panel by panel so i clean just the one I am working on since I am still using the car every day. Here are the steps:

Wash
Clay
Wash
Alcohol
Vinyl

I wrapped my fender the other night and also messed up on the trim peice so I just cut it out and wrapped it separetly. Probably going to do that for all the trim. Everythings looking great so far. :D

I discovered pulling the trim pieces is the easy solution... At least on the front fender(s).

Rewrapped the fender today and it went way smooth without the trim piece there..

jbear, you taking photos of your progress or what?

Great job man, are you wrapping in that lighting? You need a shop light!

How did you do the seam against the W/S? did you get it under the rubber gasket?

Also any close ups of the roof seam in the rear?

yeah the lighting sucks!! most the time i try and do it during the day.

for the front and rear W/S i cut along the rubber gasket and somehow it ended up working out perfect it layed right under it.

the roof seam im a little worried about cause i cut along the curve of the roof and when i do the rear panel i have a feeling that the overlay of the vinyl will be to noticable for my liking. :(

Got the fender on and the bumper off.

Really happy with the way things are going (aside from the hood). Going to wrap the bumper tomorrow, tested some stretching techniques for the fogs and I'll be able to do it seamless.

Yes!!! Again inspired by drizz I've thinking about it. I've seen
White e92 BMW m3s with black roofs and I think it looks sexy. Wonder what my LS would look like...
